Alakazam's brain cells multiply continuously until it dies, allowing it to remember everything from its birth till it dies.

By closing its eyes, Alakazam can heighten its other senses and then use its abilities with an even greater degree of power and control.

Alakazam's brain grows continuously which forces Alakazam to use its psychokinetic powers to hold its head up, but because of this Alakazam also uses its abilities to move other parts of its body that have grown weak, and because its head grows continuously, older Alakazams will have larger heads and thus stronger powers.
