Noah was unusually restless. Between the radio running Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie” on a loop and the heat, the drive to the airport wasn’t too unbearable. But waiting for the flight was. He kept pacing at the waiting area, checking the electronic board above him to make sure the numbers matched his ticket. The last thing he needed was to miss this fight. Beverly Hills was awesome and all, but Spain was even better. And it wasn’t like he didn’t have the money to go. In fact, he had too much money (how was he going to spend it?), but with Olivia by his side, he knew he wouldn’t have to worry about that.
“Okay...So what’s the word for ‘bathroom’ again?” He’d been trying to test himself on learning as much as he could so that the culture shock he knew was coming wouldn’t hurt too much. He kept asking about so many different words that he didn’t even realize he was boarding the plane and taking an aisle seat (he let Olivia have the window one as he figured she’d find it more interesting than he would). He knew he’d forget the translations as soon as he arrived, so he decided to turn the conversation to another topic. “It’s so great to get out of the country for once. At least you get to flip your fins in different waters.” He had been teasing Olivia with every The Little Mermaid joke he could think of since she dyed her hair red. The change reminded him of Ariel, so he just went with it. He promised to stop once her hair color changed again. Maybe.
Catching up on sleep seemed like a really great idea. Because once the plane landed, he planned on doing everything but that. However, he couldn’t sleep. There was too much excitement running through him. His mind kept rehearsing where they’d go and what they’d do...except, he couldn’t decide on one thing. Besides taking hundreds of pictures, of course. “We need to do something awesome. Something we can’t do anywhere else. Got any ideas?”
