Kommo-o
Kommo-o Nicknames:
K.O.modo (A smart blend of K.O. —meaning "knockout", referring to its fighting type, as well as "Komodo dragon" —the animal its design is based on.)
Ryu (This is a popular nickname for the Pokémon Kommo-o. It is a classic Japanese word for "dragon" — simple and strong! What's more, Ryu is also the name given to the male MC of the Street Fighter series!)
Jangle / Clank (A playful onomatopoeia that mimics the sound its scales make when it fights or dances.)
Bongo (A more direct and playful name that references the loud, drumming sounds that it both makes and enjoys,^^)
Gong (A simple, powerful name that references the sound its scales can produce! It is also an excellent onomatopoeia — Which makes this a very smart nickname.)
Brawler (A straightforward and strong name that gets straight to the point about its fighting type!)
Kommo-o Facts:
It lets its arm hang, and then "quick as a flash" swings upward to land its specialty punch and send the opponent flying high into the sky. Furthermore, it bashes its scales to test its opponents' mettle. The sound of struck Kommo-o scales frightens weaker foes and sends them running.
Its rigid scales function as offence and defence. In the past, its scales were processed and used to make weapons and other commodities.
Despite its reptilian appearance, the Scarlet and Violet textures on Kommo-o’s model depict a layer of fur, suggesting that it may actually be inspired by armored or scaled mammals, such as pangolins or armadillos. Much like Kommo-o, pangolins were historically hunted for their scales, which were used to make scale armor.
