Me returning to Tumblr after 84 years because I took a break from my Romantasy binge to read Heated Rivalry (because I don’t get to watch it until 10th January - shout out to Sky - and the fomo was getting to me)

And oh my god, I absolutely hate read it. I needed to share that here cos you all know I am trash for a sports bl (Joo Jaekyung the man that you are!) But if I had to read Shane give Ilya head one more time... I’d say it could be a drinking game but you’d die of alcohol poisoning by the 40% mark. And then suddenly they’re in love? What? Why? When? How?

The being cute in Ilya’s house was not earned at all - sir, how do you know this man drinks ginger ale? When was this established? I low key liked when Ilya was on the phone in Russia but only because it reminded me of a time when I used to write angsty Vikturi fanfic and then I was mourning how good the plot could have been.

Like this shit should have been my jam and yet I want a refund. I mean I read it on KU so like it was basically free. But I’m still mad because this book literally gave me less than nothing.

Except I am now so inspired to re-read Captive Prince. And also catch up on all the manhwa I’ve been ignoring. And may also dabble in a bit of toxic m/m romance. Call it a palate cleanser from all the fae shadow daddies.

But do you know what the worst thing of all is going to be? I’m going to have to read the fucking Long Game next month because I am a hypocrite and I know the show is going to get me and I will want to know what happens next.

Anyways end rant. I’ll also probably start picking up a danmei a month again in 2026. I feel like I need some Sa Ye in my life (also I’m so behind on Legend of Exorcism when they’re actually getting together like past me would never. I also need to read the last volume of 2ha).
