what kind of universe is 11!verse? what's different?

the 11!verse is a collection of newtmas fanfics based in a multiverse created by a few different creators! you can read more about it and the fics in this universe here :)

what does 11!verse mean in the tmr fandom? i saw it as a tag on tmh and a bunch of other fics, but i can't figure it out?

Hey! So 11!verse was sort of a crossover event that I had with two other writers (tattered__dreams and kathsilver). Basically it connected our three fics to the same universe / timeline, but after a significant lightning storm (ch 12 in TMH, I think it’s ch3 in WCKD Knight) the timelines split off and they’re no longer connected.

This is probably sounding confusing.. but basically all you need to know is that chapters 1-12 of TMH and chapters 1-3 of WCKD Knight run parallel to each other and are a prequel to kathsilver’s Call My Name series. 

It’s just extra stories in case people want to read more stories that connect, but the stories are also very standalone. 

You can still read TMH, WCKD Knight and the Call My Name series all on their own without having read the other two and it will all still make sense.

Does…this make sense? If you have more questions, feel free to ask and I can try to answer a bit more clearly lol

Fic Summary:

Minho was just taken by WCKD a week ago. Thomas is still reeling from Teresa's abrupt betrayal, but he's got a plan to get his friend back - to get all of them back. If all goes well, they'll be in the Safe Haven in two weeks.

All does not go well, they are not in the Safe Haven in two weeks, and Thomas' head is more clouded than ever. With help from old and new friends, stolen moments that last a lifetime but are over too quickly, and the support from a full team-- Thomas' life begins to unravel in ways he never could have planned for, no matter how many maps he's poured over.

I cannot stress enough how floored I am by the amount of support I’ve received on this fic.  Your comments mean the WORLD to me and seeing the art and one-shots based off of this makes my heart swell 3x too big.

Chapter 17 of ‘I Will Follow’ has been posted!

He knew there was no way that the fact that he’d never resurfaced last night, and that he didn’t resurface until well after midday, wouldn’t go unnoticed. The only question that remained was who would say something first, and what would they say?

Thomas left the bathing area as Newt entered it and the knowing warmth in Newt’s eyes nearly sidetracked Thomas all over again; the only reason he limited himself to a quick tap of knuckles was because they were in a public area and his stomach was demanding food. When had he last eaten? Judging by the way his mouth started salivating at the smell of what was undoubtedly Frypan’s cooking the answer wasn’t a good one.

It wasn’t awful, he’d been far skinnier during the long months they’d hunted for Minho, but just because he couldn’t quite feel his ribs yet didn’t mean he shouldn’t be eating more. Food was strength, and they would all need as much of it as they could get for the coming weeks.

So for your series Call My Name, I have a question. So, Thomas got struck by lightening and was sent back in time. If this is just a lightening thing, shouldn't it stand to reason that Minho got sent back in time when he was struck in TST? Not meaning to be rude, I just genuinely wanted to see your take on it

Okay so there are several answers to this honestly.

1. The storm that sent Thomas back was specifically a radioactive storm and the actual energy transfer and ion discharge therefore function entirely differently. A natural storm doesn’t have that same ability. Not all lightning can send someone back otherwise the world would be chock full of time travelers which would sort of defeat the point of my story. So basically it has to be a huge storm, a crazy and impossible storm, for the radiation and ionization to be enough to make a difference. Lightning marks not only a time traveler but perhaps more importantly a ‘deviation in time’, a split in the universe so it speak. An alternate reality/timeline—which is how the 11!verse works. We’ve tracked the lightning storms and are writing the stories of the alternate timelines.

2. Only being directly hit could actually strike with enough power into the brain to transport the memories across a rift. I’ve got a whole sciencey bit where @seaselkie forced me to use logic to defend my lightning time travel. If you’re curious about it and want to know more about it I can share it with you! But basically without the lightning being a direct hit (and in TST movie the lightning hits the car first and Minho gets caught in the cross fire) there isn’t enough energy to complete the data transfer across time, so to speak.

3. ….. .…… ….how do you know Minho wasn’t sent back? This just happens to not be that story. The 11!verse is quite large…. for all you know his story is already in the works.
