I noticed a pattern with album releases this year. We know that Taylor Swift’s 12th album The Life of a Showgirl (TLOAS) is being released on 10/3/25.
It has exactly 12 tracks, which she said on the New Heights podcast was very intentional.
We don’t have a runtime of the album yet.
I noticed that other artists that have history or friendship with Taylor are also releasing albums this year that are exactly 12 tracks. This feels extremely intentional.
First, Sabrina Carpenter’s album Man’s Best Friend released 8/29/25. It has exactly 12 tracks, and a runtime of 38 minutes. (Karlie Kloss’s birthday is 8/3, and Taylor references 8/3 a lot.)
Then, Ed Sheeran’s latest album, Play, releases 9/12/25. It has 12 tracks + an Opening track, so technically 13? But arguably 12 tracks.
