I had breakfast with this lil girl yesterday

Last night, she said she wants to confess her feelings to a friend. I thought, that's it. No more push and pull, no more uncertainty, no more 'what if'. I was silent. I was surprised, lost, angry, happy, and relieved all at once. I decided I would listen to loud music to feel these feelings, and then support her once I was more grounded.

But merely a moment later, she said it was a joke. A joke that'd fallen flat.

And somehow, I felt like I'd risen and fallen simultaneously.
