#weirdasswednesday indeed! A 105 year-old 1914 #Gibson Style “U” #HarpGuitar spotted at @12fretguitar #Toronto. Does anyone out there know how to play one of these?? From the #12Fret website: “at this point the harp #guitar was an expression of the view of the guitar as support for other instruments, in particular the then-popular mandolin orchestras. Gibson considered the harp guitar as the real future for guitarists and produced an amount of literature promoting its virtues”. Ha! Kind of like Robot Tuners 100 years later, eh?
