With the guidance and support of AA and some of the awesome people I have met at meetings in UK and globally I have managed to stop drinking since 29 September 2008. I choose to be open about my recovery of alcoholism as "attraction" to the 12 Step program is what helped me have the courage to attend my first meeting, back in 2006! In those early days I attended a meeting EVERY flipping night...and after 18 months of in and out, AA 'got me' .... When I was at school, Hollygirt, I didn't fully appreciate the meaning of our motto "Ever onward and upward" but, now, I am SO grateful that it was subliminally embedded in my head....Each and every hurdle I have faced in recovery has taught me that I must keep going onwards and upwards and no feeling or situation is permanent... Had I not got sober I would not be privileged to babysit my granddaughter Lenni this weekend! The gifts of sobriety!! Have a fantabulous "CHOOSEDAY" Just for today I choose to be happy. ๐๐๐ #12stepprogram #sobrietyrocks #aa #13yearssober #recoveryfromalcohol (at Bingham, Nottingham, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cf6HH4LMISWUZjciq97z2IRNegzfOcXfvPYKTQ0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
