Dragon Age Lovers- Patching Up
The @14daysofdalovers event might be over but I’m still writing for it, going to try and finish it out with a few more days (and any excuse to write my trash boys while I’m stuck on the actual fic, honestly)
Lyrium Ghosts (Modern AU) Garrett Hawke x Fenris
“Okay: bread, pasta, pesto, onions, coffee, dish soap-- what else?” Hawke counted off the list on his fingers while Fenris typed it into his phone.
“Milk for Anders.”
“Milk for Anders,” Hawke repeated. They walked down the steps to the ground floor, and Hawke paused abruptly, brow furrowed in thought. “Milk for us? Do we need milk?”
Fenris chuckled and continued walking. “Yes. I wrote it down.”
Garrett grinned and snuck his arm around Fenris’ waist to pull him closer. Fenris was still typing their grocery list into his phone but went willingly, and let Hawke press a quick kiss to his cheek. “What would I do without you?”
“Forget the milk.” Fenris glanced up at Hawke with a smirk.
Hawke rolled his eyes. “Smart ass.” He let go of Fenris to open the door out to the parking lot and dug his keys out of his jacket pocket as they walked towards his truck. “Oh, I want to look for those little rice cakes too, the ones Merrill likes.”
Fenris dutifully typed it into his phone, but he was smirking again. “For you, or Merrill?”
“Both. Why do you have to be such a smart ass today?” Not that he particularly minded getting teased by his boyfriend. Garrett went to open the passenger door for Fenris, but when he pulled, the door didn’t open. Hawke frowned and tried again.
Fenris raised an eyebrow. “Is your truck broken again?”
“It’s just stuck, not--” Hawke pulled harder, and the entire handle broke off and came out of the side of the truck. “...broken. Fuck.”
Garrett stared at the door handle in his hand and Fenris looked at the hole where it used to be. “You were saying?”
Hawke glared, and pointed at Fenris with the broken handle. “Shut up, I can fix this.” He strode to the back of the truck and lowered the hatch to climb into the back, then started rummaging in the box. Fenris watched as Hawke emerged with a roll of silver duct tape and hopped out. He returned to the passenger door and fit the handle back into its hole, then ripped off a piece of duct tape and secured it, followed by another at an angle. “There.”
Fenris raised his eyebrows. “This is what you call fixing it?”
“It’s a patch job, Fen,” Garrett sighed and walked around to the driver’s side. He opened the driver’s door and climbed in, then leaned over to open the passenger door from the inside, swinging it open to a dubious-looking Fenris. “But let’s uh, go to the body shop after the grocery store, yeah?”
