01/12/25: I found a rare 15¢ copy of The Lone Ranger's Famous Horse Hi-Yo Silver no. 26 (1958) at the Nostalgic Comic Shop in SGV. These 15¢ covers represent an important moment in American comic magazine publishing.
From the Comic Completist: for an 18 month period (March 1957 to August 1958), every regular size Dell comic book had a 10 cent and a 15 cent variant. The 15 cent variants were sold in certain markets to test the feasibility of a price increase.
It wasn't well received, and Dell never regained their share of the market.
The Lone Ranger's Famous Horse Hi-Yo Silver no. 26 features that title's regular, stellar lineup of Gaylord Dubois (story), Tom Gill (drawing) and Sam Savitt (cover painting). With Keenay, Midnight, Moussa and a young Silver story.
