I came across a twitter thread with random tidbits of pmmm trivia and "learned" (was reminded) that in the Madoka 100 questions thing she says she's in the gardening and crafts clubs. Literally just completely forgot that but kinda kino.
74 tells me glasses were out of fashion until they became cool in the late 60s and she knows this bc she lied to the eye doctor hoping to get some at the end of high school (before then you weren't caught dead w glasses on)
Daifuku was the most stalwart he's EVER been this episode, but beyond even that I'm impressed at Mehmeh's performance here. What a legend.
I got past my initial melancholy and such last week, and managed to more or less enjoy the episode despite everything surrounding it for me. This week I think we faired a decent bit worse. I just straight up don't like Tomari for a start, she's as annoying if not more so than her older sister who was already by far my least favourite of the new members in the first place. Kanon and Margarete actually have a character dynamic, but Tomari is just there to pad out the roster, and it sucks. Past that though, this episode is about the new Tomakanote as they're currently called putting together a song and streaming it to get a shot at participating in a local festival. Interesting opportunity to explore how our new subgroup operates and does things on their own - what's their songwriting process like, how is Margarete gonna write lyrics, what experiences are they pulling from - but the episode is only passingly interested in that, and despite all the initial friction between the members they basically get things done without much to even really talk about. Margarete being a dick has ramifications for her public persona but that's it, really. Their song is nice at least? The costumes and stage are very pretty. But idk Superstar once again feels afraid of a particular type of commitment here, such that this episode as a whole is sort of just on the more boring end, and occasionally outright annoying. Oh well.
