Monitoring SLE takes monthly or weekly tests. Combine those with monitoring blood test for potassium, Phosphorus, and other kidney related levels due to failure equals a lot of sticking. I've had almost everything lupus can give, but nothing scared me like lupus fog. Mine was so bad I couldn't remember how to unlock my phone, pay Bill's, or even crank my push to start car. It was so scary. I just basically had a blank stare and studdered and stammered through my responses. I was lucky though. Mine only lasted 18 days after 2 weeks of IV steroids. I would have to say, not knowing anything about anything and not understanding that something was wrong was one of the worse experiences of my life this far besides my mom passing. But I seem to overcome everything.
