Mid Cub...
Yeah nah man Super Cub episode 11 was rough. Second half was quite boring and hard to watch after the first half left such a sour taste in my mouth, and that first half, jeez. The sheer amount of stupid decisions characters make all for the sake of promoting Super Cubs is inappropriate and tasteless. No Koguma don’t phone the fuckin police or an ambulance or get any sort of medical attention for the girl who fell 15 feet into a freezing cold river in the dead of winter, after all.
Buy Super Cubs guys! I’ve genuinely not cared about the advertising before but there comes a point where you should stop trying to sell a fucking product, god.
Also, previous episodes have made a big deal out of that cold winter wind. So the characters got their big wind guards and windshields and whatever, fair enough. Shii goes in, the fucking basket. At the front of the Cub. With. Zero protection from the elements. And she’s wearing wet clothing. In winter. I’m honestly at a loss for words regarding how stupid this is.
Just everything about this episode left a horrid taste in my mouth. Fucking shame.
Watched Mugen Train since that came out on BD. On the fence between 6 and 7 for score, which is high praise relative to my usual Demon Slayer takes. The comedy is still unfunny, I still hate Zenitsu, I don’t really care that much about anyone else. But Inosuke is actually likeable for once, Tanjiro is Tanjiro and to be honest I like Tanjiro, and Rengoku is really quite based. For being nearly 2 hours set in just one location it wasn’t nearly as tedious as I was worried it’d be, and I mean. The visuals. I waste so many random positive adjectives so hyperbolically on a lot of stuff to where I don’t even want to begin to describe how stunning this movie is. I should say that the animation carried - I doubt I’d care if not for the visuals (music helped btw, was good). But honestly visuals at this level are worth sitting through 2 hours of the basic bitch shounen writing that Demon Slayer consists of. I guess I can settle on 6 - everything that’s not related to the presentation ranges from meh to decent and it still can waste some time, like on Tanjiro’s boring bland predictable dream crap and some real lame jokes, but when you’re just that much of a treat to look at then, sure. 6 I guess.
I watched the Tokyo 7th Sisters movie that just came out, some thoughts:
there’s enough plot here for a 12 episode anime
this is made very much for fans so I didn’t get a lot of it
all of the girls are very one-note and boring
main villain was comically evil and I didn’t like him
subs were bad, no fault of the movie I just wanted to mention this
feel like the idea of “harsh reality” is so prevalent in this movie that the overly idealistic ending felt kind of... inconsistent? Not big into it
music was mid
visuals were mid
yeah
more Chuuni scores
Depth of Field - Ai to Nikushimi Gekijou - 7/10
Fun mecha setpieces with a last episode that actually made me cry it was really sweet
Ren Lite - 5/10
I’ve already forgotten the majority of the sketches
Ren Specials - 7/10
They were actually funny and there was loads of Rikka suffering
Take On Me Mini-Drama - Koukai Chokuzen no... Kaiko Gekijou - 2/10
Score tank moment lol. These didn’t even have spoken dialogue...

Anyway now all that’s left are the two movies then I’m done with Chuunibyou.
