OKAY! So hello I've just found y'all today and I love you all so much it reminds me of my old blog but that's aside the point. I saw a post where someone wanted to know the flaws of Ryoma, Shigure, and I think Silas? And then there was one for stuttering Shiro and it ignited this flame in me that has bothered me for MONTHS OKAY AND THE WORLD MUST KNOW. RYOMA IS A TERRIBLE FATHER. THAT'S HIS FLAW. (1/probably 2 i dunno yet)
Ryoma literally NEVER told Shiro that he was going basically the high prince of Hoshido, cause as soon as Mikoto died Ryoma was basically king in all ways aside formal blah blah. So when he goes to get Shiro from his deep realm he's like 'I thought you'd learn responsibility, and leadership' and then proceeds to make Shiro feel essentially isolated and like crap because his own dad didn't trust him enough to tell him who exactly he is. Oof (2/3 or 4 im sorry)
So basically Shiro didn't end up like Ryoma did at his age and Ryoma kind of resents him for that and that's NOT FAIR because Ryoma was raised ALWAYS knowing who he was going to be and what he had to become and Shiro was a kid who's dad probably never visited him, or hardly did, never told him about their lives and families or if he did it was all very abridged and I bet Shiro lacks trust in his dad at this point at all. But if you consider how Ryoma could've raised him (IM WRITING SO MUCH SORRY
So Ryoma could've raised Shiro similar to how Xander raised Siegbert, still in the DR but with the knowledge thay he would be king so he could study. And even when Siegbert is anxious because he puts his dad on a pedastal Xander shuts him down and basically says I can guide you but you're going to be your own king, I have my flaws and I hope you can learn from that. I understand that Ryoma gets better but he probably gave Shiro massive anxiety disorders and trust issues. Okay I'm done, sorry..
