Lady's and Maid's Dressing Gown. Sleeves in Two Styles.
This smart and cosy dressing gown is suitable for woolen materials, with collar, cuffs and pocket flaps of silk, or it may be made of the one material throughout. Silk or satin are equally suitable for this garment.
"Modern Marriage" patterns - "Miss Paris" and "Surprise". October, 1931
"Miss Paris" This neat and attractive little dress for all-day wear is cut down in one, for a slim effect, but has pointed godets let in from the knees at front and back, to give a low flare. In a soft wool crepe, jersey or cloth its simple lines would look very supple and charming. For a fresh crisp note have the neckstrap and gauntlet cuffs in pique or crêpe de Chine.
"Surprise" This is a charming dress and coatee in georgette or crêpe de Chine. The dress has a two-piece skirt joined to a short foundation over which are mounted two flared flounces. The bodice is sleeveless and low-necked, but over it you wear the coatee which has long sleeves and pretty tie fronts. To turn it into an evening gown you simply slip off the coatee and wear the dress over an underskirt to which is attached a third flounce. The top flounce is a two-piece shape, but the two lower ones are circular and all three are prettily trimmed with kiltings.

This year my blog readers helped me decide which pattern to choose for the early 1930’s look I was going for. I will use this […] http://dlvr.it/PgwsNM
