It’s several minutes before Sam’s calm.

Dean notices no one has come looking for them. No one has even called his name. But he focuses on Sam. He has to deal with that later.

Now, it’s all Sam.

Dean thinks back. He had hidden behind the woodpile at Bobby’s when it all started. That’s when the shifter that looked like John had grabbed him from behind. Which was moments after Sam suddenly closed the door - probably when they took Sam’s form too.

Dean tries to block out how scared Sam seemed then. 

So they took them at 8:15.

Dean got to the library where the shifters were holding both John and Sam around 11:30.

Three hours at most.

Dean hopes he and John escaped quickly. But seeing the state Sam’s in, he doesn’t think so.

Sam finally speaks. It’s broken up with sniffs and sobs, but he manages.

“They tried to make me think it was you Dean. But I knew you wouldn’t - I knew you wouldn’t...” Sam’s grip on Dean’s shirt becomes tighter. “I almost believed him. Almost. It was so real. It was so so real, Dean.”

“Sammy?” Dean’s breath catches in his throat. “Tell me. Tell me what he did.”

Sam opens his mouth to speak - when the screen door behind them hits the wall of the house. 

Sam flinches. He closes his mouth.

“Dean!” The voice is angry.

The fact that Merlins words alone are powerful enough to almost break through an incredibly powerful enchantment on Arthur when the girl who cast the enchantment is IN THE ROOM and ARGUING AGAINST MERLIN is INSANE this is episode SEVEN stop being so loud guys we get it!!
