Today, Hinami had decided to take advantage of Koi’s beautiful weather to take a walk around the city. Despite having lived here for some time now, there was still a lot about the city that she didn’t know. So, feeling adventurous, she picked a direction and started off.

After awhile, she found herself at the window of a dessert shop. Sweets of all kinds decorated the front window--small cakes with lifelike decorations, cookies swirled with cream in pinks and blues and yellows, pastries glistening with glazed icing--beautiful, and amazing works of art, but worse than useless to her. She couldn’t help but feel morose looking at them, wondering what they tasted like to humans... what it must feel like to eat something as a treat, instead of as a desperate necessity.

She watched a small girl choosing a dessert for herself, chatting with the shop owner, and despite knowing that the stench of the entire shop would make her want to gag, she could no longer resist the temptation to enter. Even if she’d never eat it, she wanted to have one of these treats for herself. The problem, besides the way the entire store reeked, was that she had no idea what any of the foods in the window were.

“Um, Miss... I’m sorry to bother you, but I was wondering... Is there something specific you’d recommend here? I’m afraid I’m not very familiar with sweets, myself.”

There. That wasn’t suspicious at all. Probably.

[Text:] Sorry about that. I don’t really think about my mortality- Or lack there of. We can move away from the subject if it bothers you.

[Text:] Okay well to start, I’m not human, never was, I was born dead. I’m an ‘animal’ of sorts called a Pokemon, species name Banette, with a genetic mutation that allows me to take on human form.

Gotta get that out of the way first

[Text:] Before I evolved I was what was called a Shuppet, they average around 2 feet tall and in my human form I was 3′4. I was in that stage of my life for a really, really long time [Text:] You could call it a growth spurt though, yeah. When I evolved ...Ten years ago? I shot up to 6′4, which I was really happy about at the time since I had always wished to be tall. [Text:] It’s less ghosty powers and more, mysterious inner powers. If you keep working at it I’m sure you can get a little taller too though!

[Text:] That being said...It’s not as good as it looks, trust me on this okay? I actually really miss being small.  [Text:] Don’t give up, no matter how old you get there’s always chance for growth.

[Text:] It all sounds really weird though, doesn’t it?
