@clutteredvoices has babies that will be ready for adoption soon! They are located in northwest Georgia & if you’re in the southeastern U.S., I can possibly help out with transportation if you can reimburse me a little bit for gas. Please contact her if you’re interested!
The two new girls are natural posers!
poor Maynard, he is the creepiest little rat ever. he just creeps around staring wide-eyed at everyone with his head down as low as possible. it’s okay Maynard I still love you.
Wheeler showed up on Craig’s List a couple of days ago--he was bought by someone a few weeks ago to feed to her snake, fattened up with granola & high fat dog food, & then came the feeding time when he was deemed big enough. Fortunately for him, the snake was picky & refused him for two straight weeks. The owner got sick of dealing with his odor because adult boyrat+small tank+toilet paper for bedding=very stinky, so she posted him up for free on Craig’s List, where he was most likely gonna go as food again. I wish no one fed live, but it seems especially unfortunate to me for a rat to survive multiple feeding attempts & then go right back to being fed again, so I’d probably list “the snake wouldn’t eat him” as one of my top three weaknesses when it comes to “oh yeah totally not gonna refuse this rat.”
Thankfully, the owner *very* kindly held him for me for a few days, which she didn’t have to do--it was a free rat in a big city, I’m sure she had tons of people who could’ve came by & picked him up right away to use him as food & I really, really appreciate her willingness to hang on to him until I could meet up with her. I’ve had people refuse to hold rats for three hours until I could get off work & drive to them, so the fact she held him for two days is commendable, especially for someone that didn’t care what happened to the rat.
