The biggest sign to me that fandom times were changing was when Fire Emblem Three Houses came out and people were making a big deal about Byleth being able to romance their ancient ancestors. Like why are we pretending the last successful game that came out didn't have all EIGHT of our brothers, sisters, and cousin as romanceables.
