The #2021NWMC has just culminated. May everything we learned in this month-long celebration reach our loved ones. The more people learn about women’s rights, the lesser chances of gender-based violence occuring in our community. Let’s do our share in spreading awareness in order to have an environment that makes change work for women. The NWMC is done but our advocacy on women empowerment does not end there. When i don’t stream and sing online, i speak in front of various people. This is not new to me, but i’m still not used to it. Growing up, i was just a girl writing my thoughts into poems and essays but never really had a chance to read them in front of an audience. Back then, i was the girl who is always excused in class to join sequencing events and out-of-town campaigns that would require my singing, NOT speaking. So forgive me if sometimes i don’t make sense ‘cause i still hafta learn lotsa things in the stage of my career. So my dear Youtube friends, know that i’m just AFK as of the moment but i’m still on the microphone, just on a different stage. I’ll brb, that’s for sure and i hope you will still be there to watch me on my next vlog or cover. Eyyy! This is just a Sunday realization. I did not come here to come clean nor to brag about things. This is just me telling you, yes YOU, that you are fine wherever you are now and take your time to grow and glow up. We have different timelines, different roles, different priorities. But if there’s one thing that keeps us all united, it’s the common truth that if you love what you do, just do it cause the people who truly love you would understand and support you regardless of the path and platform you take. It is never selfish to keep your fire ablaze whether you are in your comfort zone or not. And if you feel like there’s so much air around you, it is always up to you if you choose to get choked by it or if you use it to fan your flame. One of the most productive 3 hours of my life was when i attended the webinar of @maritapimentel! She was the one who taught me HGDG and everything GAD-related that i know and do now as the Division Coordinator in DepEd-Surigao del Sur. There’s always new learning each time.
