Day 14 of 21, embracing an attitude of gratitude and today I am grateful for peace. Peace that surpasses all understanding. As someone who strives to handle unexpected changes smoothly, peace doesn’t always come easy for me. I literally go through the stages of grief trying to process the loss of “what was." Like when COVID hit, my job was in jeopardy, and the volleyball seasons were cancelled and postponed. Shock of working from home and having no practice or games appeared. Denial about the severity of the situation surfaced. Anger that plans were cancelled arose. Bargaining that if “outside opened back up” I would always say yes to opportunities popped up. Extreme sadness for the loss of senior seasons, isolation, deaths, unemployment rates, travel bans, random weather (Buffalo often experiences all four seasons in one day) starters to take its toll. The list goes on and on. But it didn’t last long. I entered the stage of acceptance with an “it is what it is” mentality and just started taking it one day at time. Which really helped me stay calm. Appreciating each day. Honestly, only God could provide that level of peace amongst chaos. Cuz as we all know, 2020s been........ a year..... to say the least. So again I am so grateful for peace. And truly aiming to maintain or surpass that level of peace in all areas of my life for the rest of my life!!! So the questions for today are what do you do to be at peace? And What are you grateful for today?
