I have binged fawx & stallion in the last three days, because I saw so many posts praising it. I had a hard time getting into the first season tbh. Not to say that it is not good - IT IS, and the little mentions of holmes and watson are a delight. The thing is... I REALLY, REALLY dislike Fawx. I find him SO ANNOYING, it is hard to make myself listen to the scenes he is in (and seeing as he is one of the 3 main characters he is in almost all scenes). IT is NOT to say that he is a bad, or badly written character, he just personally annoys me. Fortunatelly both Stallion and Madge are a AMAZING (Madge bought me in the very first episode with the line: their flat is as empty as my marriage vows) so I powered through. TBH I did it for Archie. Archie deserves the world, and I want to wrap him in a blanket and give him soup, my poor poor man who thought that he can do good IN POLICE FORCE IN VICTORIAN ENGLAND. Love you Archie you silly silly goose.
Now season 2. SEASON 2. IT WAS SO GOD DAMMED GOOD I STAYED UP TILL 4am ON A WORK NIGHT TO FINISH IT. IT IS PERFECT. The premise of kitch amusement park being build in holmes honour after his "death" is hillarious, especially when you realise they have actors playing watsons and holmes'. Fawx and Stallion have to investigate their first murder case (or really a first serious case really) while they have been thrown into the deep deep water of relations with the press. John Watson is very tired and doesn't want to be a part of this story, AND I LOVE HIM TO FUCKING PIECES. He is written and played SO WELL. And Fitzy, birthday boy Fitzy, the "I pride myself on being forgetable", I'll watch as you loose neggotiations with a feral bunch of kids only to get you wat you want out of that negotiation in the last moment, heavily accented ginger reporter. He is really a highlight for me. Honestly this has to be one of the most interesting hiatus interpretation I saw to date. To have Holmes admit that the preasure of being all that Watson made him up to be on the page, finally become to much for him, so he decided to "die" so no one would expect anything from him apart from being dead (I may have cried a little in that scene). Realising that Holmes didn't leave Watson any note, just disappeared without word, and the letter was entirely written by Watson instead hurts all the more. Watson not being able to finish that letter, leads to the INCREDIBLE confession scene because those bitches are gay, your honour. The whole show is so wonderfully, unapologetically gay and I am here for it.
So long story short, while I had a hard time getting into the first season, it was SO WORTH IT for the second one. Go listen to fawx & stallion it is great.
