Almost had to say no to this one! Unfortun8ly the cuttlefish on that page (and almost every page in the comic) are too 8lurry. However, I did get the cuttlefish on page 2180, which I assume was the original sprite 8efore Hussie resized it for every other page. Also, a tiny cuttlefish pixel from Alternia8ound.

I made edits of them so you could have all the colours from that page:

Feferi is a wealthy troll child, so she gets the Maplehoof treatment - but since she’s on Alternia, a single ‘heart’ horse just won’t suffice. Four Maplehooves, please, for our little princess.

Feferi might just be pampering herself, actually, since I somehow doubt the squid monster bought these for her. Speaking of which...

It’s a fucking Horrorterror?

Sorry, it’s the ‘emissary’ to the Horrorterrors, which isn’t much better. Gl’bgolyb isn’t a kraken - it’s Cthulhu, an eldritch monster that I’m half-convinced is only masquerading as a lusus. We now know who’s been whispering to Feferi, and it turns out they’re the same beings who were whispering to Rose. 

This is... really big, actually. The Horrorterrors were somehow able to reach out of sessionspace, and place this thing in the conventional universe. Who knows what it’s been doing out here. 

That fact that it’s decided to raise the highest-class trolls on Alternia might give us some clue. The planet’s leaders have had Horrorterrors whispering in their ears, and it’s turned into a hellhole. I feel like those two facts might be related. 

Oh, and for the record - the prospect of prototyping a Horrorterror is more chilling than all my prototyping ideas combined. The troll session was doomed long before the kids did whatever they did. 

This makes you the HEIR APPARENT for Alternian rulership, which ordinarily would place you in considerable jeopardy. HER IMPERIOUS CONDESCENSION would steer the flagship from the fleet and make an attempt on your life herself, if not for the protection of your monstrous lusus.

Well this has been a long time coming. I was getting sick of calling the Alternian leadership the ‘powers-that-be’.

The power-that-is is an individual known as Her Imperious Condescension, which is about what you’d expect. That Feferi is her heir would imply that she also has this rare blood, but Feferi’s is unique, so I’m not sure what her deal is. 

Maybe Her Condescension has Eridan’s blood color, and ascended to the throne in lieu of any true royal-blooded heiress. Now that there actually is a real heir on the board, she wants to kill Feferi before she matures and claims her birthright. Standard high-blood power play, just on a larger scale.

Ok so she’s not just the highest blood, she’s the only highest blood.  This specifically says she’s the only of her kind known to possess such noble blood, which makes me wonder what color blood HER IMPERIOUS CONDESCENSION has?  Does she also have Eridan-flavored blood but was made the ruler due to some other factor?  

Intriguing.

Carbuncle is a great word and whenever I point out to my Final Fantasy loving friends that it is a word for a really nasty boil they stop wanting to be friends with me. :D

So her plans are clearly better than what’s currently going on by a long shot but it goes a little too far in the opposite direction, it would seem.  Rather than finding the intrinsic value in the “unfit and infirm” and giving them the tools they need to live their lives as they see fit, she intends to take care of them like her little pet cuttlefish in cages they don’t need.  I guess... I guess instead of being a CuttlefishCuller she wants to be a CuttlefishCoddler.  

I am very clever.

I believe that she assumes this means uniting the sea dwelling and land dwelling troll races but maybe Big Glubby actually means she’ll unite the human and troll races?  Feferi + Jade OTP?
