Khufu's sun barque, c. 2500 B.C.
In 1954 the great sun barque of Khufu, ca. 2500 B.C., was discovered on the south side of the Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), it was almost intact, although dismantled into 1224 parts, as was a second example. However, there is still no agreement about the purpose of these ships. One theory is that the body of the pharaoh Kheops was brought across the Nile and then buried with him. The other version is that the king made a pilgrimage with the ship and thus turned a means of transport into a holy relic. The most recent version is that Khufu did not use the boat, but a son and then laid it down as an offering to his father.
Khufu's ship is one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved vessels from antiquity. It measures 43.6 m (143 ft) long and 5.9 m (19.5 ft) wide. It was thus identified as the world's oldest intact ship and has been described as "a masterpiece of woodcraft" that could sail today if put into a lake, or a river

Look it's my other girl, Tawassi! She is a horse-riding, rootin'-tootin', Indo-European Language speaking gal! Very similar to Tabiti from last year, I know... she is like the historically accurate ancestor of her. All my characters are the same archetypes anyway, like Shubure totally = Oenone who is basically Eshe again haha. ANYWAY She is/was chilling in the northern part of Anatolia after crossing the Balkans as a baby in a sling during the Pre-Hittite migration. A little background historical info, this is around 2000 BC, by 1700 BC the Hittites are an empire that kind of took over the area of the Hatti (hence the name, since their name for themselves was something totally different) and despite their Indo-European language, chariots and iron, their religious beliefs and population seem to reflect the original Hatti. I was thinking of having her Dad be Hittite and her mom be Hattian to cause some identity conflict but I think that's too much, she's already going to be all culture shocked going to Ur anyway, may as well keep it fresh.
