It’s time for Janet’s 25 Days of Holiday Tips! If at all possible, try not to schedule a dentist appointment on your first day of holiday tips, because you’ll be tired and not interested at the end of the day. But the show must go on! Did you know Paul Soles, the actor who voiced Hermey the Elf who wanted to be a dentist in the 1964 classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, also voiced Spiderman in the 1967 animated series? And he’s 90! So there is some holiday trivia for your office Zoom parties. You’re welcome! Also, this collection is one of my favorite holiday decorations. Janet’s 25 Days of Holiday Tips! 2020 Pandemic Holidays got you unmotivated and blue? Try the Christmas Waltz. Every day do one thing you have to do, one thing you want to do, and one thing for someone else. One, two, three, one, two, three, one, two, three and so on until you feel more like yourself again. Get it? Like a self-help waltz. I heard a version of this on a podcast a few months back, and I must say it did help with motivation and mood boosting. Great Songs of Christmas are the best holiday albums, and some of your local antique stores may have one or several of these volumes stashed amidst their vinyl collections. And they’re usually in pristine condition. Janet’s 25 Days of Holiday Tips! I have to be honest. I’ve only seen Elf once, and I’m not even sure how it ends. If you follow me regularly, you know I tend to get sleepy during movies. But I love documentaries and stories about how the sausage is made. It’s time for Janet’s 25 Days of Holiday Tips! It’s my new favorite tradition. It’s also my favorite tradition to start a few days early, because I’m very impatient. New traditions can be fun, but Christmas is not a time to try new recipes. Scott and I like a good cheese ball, but this version would not go over well in my house. Green onions and minced jalapeño? And if you’re of a certain age, you remember when the house was the library. I spent a lot of time in the children’s room/kitchen. Janet’s 25 Days of Holiday Tips! Supposedly an ironing board makes a great cooling rack for all of your holiday baking when you have limited counter space. I say supposedly, because I’ve never done enough holiday baking to require this tip. My real tip is to establish relationships with enough lovely people in your life who enjoy baking, so you can just enjoy the eating part.
