ffx 25th anniversary month!
happy twenty five years of life to the game that changed my life forever. i celebrate it every other day, but this year feels really important. i'm so excited with how the cast has been featured here and there, in every other game to celebrate its existence and the fact that it has inspired entire generations of gamers, writers, artists, everyone.
i love yuna the most, that much is obvious, but tidus has been someone i've seen myself in for many years, and a character that has resonated the most over my childhood, as well as my teenage years. his anger, stubbornness, heading in first and asking questions later, his passion, his courage, i've been there, am there still at times. if anything, i have always been closer to him than yuna, ironically enough. i've held him close to my heart forever, and will do for the rest of my life, i'm thankful he was created. yuna has been an ideal i've wanted to reach growing up, trying to become someone so headstrong and determined and unwavering. i'm not sure if i'll ever be there, but i'm glad she is with me all along, and that i have the honor of living in a time where i am allowed to do that, dissecting her and making new journeys for her with other people.
i won't go into details about the rest of the cast, because even though they may not be 'the main ones' they have all imparted some lesson and made sure that the young child back then knew that she would grow up into a person that knew how to make choices for themselves, good or bad ones.
i hope x continues to live in the hearts of everyone who has played it, will play it and are playing it still. that it becomes something eternal. i wish for everyone who comes across yuna because of me to always have a curious mind towards it, to take the journey and the pilgrimage and learn something new about themselves. i hope i can see twenty-five, thirty-five, however many-five years more of ffx being celebrated.
