Insipid

I’m watching you all through a window, peering in from the cracked concrete. I’ve covered the walls with eyes, watching you writhe about in sin. From atop trees and lamp posts, I lay hidden and dormant, waiting. I observe from high up in the stars, orbiting your world, closed so tight. Crying havoc and spilling tears, your ornamental fantasies, a tediously constructed ruse, spouting another’s lurid diction.

Tempest

Eyes swallowed in seething saline, I could smell the pain on her breath. Wetted brow, I tried, tugged, pulled, she threw her options out, castaway. A loss immeasurable, gone for good,  symphonic avalanche of closing doors. She burned her bridge and took off, chasing solace into the horizon. Unacceptable, irreplaceable, lost, I poured from my throat my love, I walked oceans, I toppled mountains, trading my years and time for her. What a chase, that was, how fickle, now to be so hot on another tail. I’d wear crowns of dreamcatchers, and I’ll dance in the burning sunset.

As I was once constructed, furnished with will of fiery passion. I will move mountains with my fist, as love as my witness, for you. I will erect great cities, bend the universe to my might. Sift through the endless sand, all in the conquest for you. Through entropy and hardship, I will exact my desire unto Earth. A ceaseless struggle, eternal crawl. But all of it is worth it, for you. You with your splendor and vigor,  with those lips and eyes that shimmer. I would throw myself into the bowels of doom, all for just a moment with you. I'll watch the galaxies age, atop the backs of brilliant men. Wheres and whats are unimportant, all that matters is when, with you.
