Overwatch 2 Developer AMA
Alright, the OW2 developers did an AMA and I want to go over some of the important details. If you want to have a more in-depth look at the AMA, here is a link to a video that talks about it. Some of the most important questions answered include:
They are testing a prototype of a new Ping system. They said that it is not a final thing, but the developer team is excited about it.
They like the possibilities of cross-play between systems(PC, Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo Switch), but they don't have anything to announce yet.
This is important: We will be getting a new feature somewhere "in the timeframe of soon and really soon". So, look out for something in the near future.
They are working on new comics.
Interesting Lore bit: In the "Reflections" comic, Reaper is seen stalking a family. That family is related to Reaper in some sense(I will be doing a short theory on that soon).
Bastion will be getting a rework.
Armor and shields(example: Wrecking Ball's Adaptive Shields or Brigitte's Rally Armor) will be considered as "over-health", but they are still working on it.
Gothenburg and the unknown India map might be the new unknown map type.
2CP(the Assault map type) will not be in OW2 and no more 2CP maps are being designed, but 2CP might show up in the Arcade.
There is going to be a new Symmetra skin soon(WOO!!!), hopefully, a Summer Games skin, but they didn't specify.
We will also be getting ANOTHER Widowmaker skin soon. I don't think it is going to be coming with a yearly event, I'm pretty sure it will be the June Joust skin because you win a Widowmaker statue if you win the OWL pick em's.
They will be updating the endorsement system.
Anyway, I will be posting about that Reaper theory soon and how it might be connected to a theory I have about the new comics we will be getting, depending on when they come out.
