Friendly October 3 Reminder
Don't burn your house down. People live there.
Mom's favorite flowers...
Today was a special day for the Elric brothers, and it didn't need to be marked in a calendar for them to remember, although Edward's pocket watch had it carved-in if they ever forgot. Both had woken early because they found it hard to sleep -too many thoughts flowing in their minds-. It was on this very day 100 3 years ago, that they had burned down their house to bury the memory of their failed attempt at human transmutation and set out to return their bodies back with the premise that there was no turning back. They both moved forward and together passed the many trials the world had set out for them until they could achieve their goal.
It was Edward's turn to make breakfast today. As he prepared something quick, Alphonse went outside and looked at the old tree that once had a swing on it. Below it, the Elrics with the help of Winry had planted a small garden with their mom's favorite types of flowers. Although it brought Al some sadness and pain to observe, it mostly reminded him of fond memories where Ed and him helped their mother water them, or how she didn't get mad when they accidentally fell on them while fighting, and she just smiled and told them to help her plant some new ones. The memories were so vivid that it felt like only yesterday that Trisha Elric called both of them out for dinner from the very spot he was standing on. It also felt like yesterday how she suddenly got ill, how she passed away with a smiling face, how they tried so hard to try and bring her back, how their attempt failed and he lost his body, while his brother lost 2 limbs... He tried not to think about those last parts, and instead focus on the good times, on the memories where she was still there with them, healthy and caring, her embrace worth more than anything in the world.
(This is a special post for Ed and I to commemorate this day. It's not very elaborate, but I wanted something done for the day ever since I made Al's account in January.)
