At first light, while the Argentinians were still hammering us, I could see out the corner of my eye this young lad. He was sitting with a dead Argentinian who's got these boots we all wanted, except the dead soldier has only got one leg. The lad measures his foot up against the dead bloke's, sees that if fits, and takes his boot off - and at the same time he's making himself a brew! All this is while the battle's going on. He puts the boot on, ties it up and I could see he was thinking it was a good fit. He then looks round and finds the Argentinian's other leg, takes off the boot off, puts it on and then goes back to his brew! I thought 'God, that lad's only eighteen and probably doesn't even shave yet!' Fantastic - cool, calm, and collected.
