Kalimba Hymns

A kalimba rings. I feel the texture of the wood under my fingers. The metal reverberates, And the whole things buzzes in sympathy.

I'm not playing anything in particular, Not trying to hear anything Besides a lingering voice that belongs in the quiet Instead of interrupting it. I listen for the sounds behind the music, The echoes of what could be, And find peace.
