30 Day Friends Challenge: Day 13
Favourite Joey Moment → kissing Phoebe on her birthday
Joey is generally portrayed as this goofy and stupid "ladies man", and he's often used for comedic relief, so there are literally hundreds of hilarious moments that I could have chosen - but my absolute favourite thing about Joey is his compassion for his friends. I adore this scene because it shows that beneath all his bravado, Joey is actually an incredibly sweet guy. Phoebe was upset because she had just turned 31, and she hadn't had all the experiences she had planned on having by the time she was that age. One of those experiences was to have a 'perfect kiss’, so Joey decided to make it happen for her. I love that this moment is so sweet; it’s not sexy or romantic, or anything like you’d probably expect from someone like Joey. He’s not doing this to get into her pants or for selfish reasons – he just does it because he loves his friends and he’d do anything for them.

Favourite Male → Chandler Bing
30 Day Friends Challenge: Day 10
Favourite Chandler Moment → His speech about wanting a kid.
Chandler is arguably the wittiest character on the show and he has certainly had his fair share of hilarious one-liners, many of which I contemplated choosing as my favourite Chandler moment. But I ultimately chose this scene because it reminds me of how much Chandler grew in the ten years of this show. When Friends started, Chandler’s only defining characteristic was that he was completely afraid of commitment and emotion. There were countless jokes made at his expense about how he would be the last one to get married, or how he would never have children. Entire episodes were devoted to running jokes surrounding his commitment issues and his ability to find something wrong in every potential girlfriend. But then he fell in love with Monica and that all changed. Here he is, in the last season, completely head over heels in love with his wife, and begging for the chance to have a child with her so he can start a family. He never lost his sarcasm or his wit, but falling in love did change Chandler for the better, and this scene proves that.

Favourite Female→ Monica Geller
30 Day Friends Challenge: Day 4
Favourite Monica Moment→ Letting Rachel name her baby 'Emma'
With all the hilarious things that Monica has said and done, this is probably a really obscure moment to choose as my favourite. But I love this scene because it really shows who Monica is. Beyond her tendency to be obsessive, beyond her competitiveness, and beyond her neuroticisms, Monica is incredibly gracious and caring, and she loves her friends more than anything else. When it really matters, she puts her friends first. Monica had picked out the name 'Emma' to use for her future child when she was 14 years old. She really wanted to give that name to her baby. Yet she let Rachel use it anyway, because, at the end of the day, she cares for her friends more than she cares for herself. This moment just exemplifies why I love her so much.
