28–Blast from the Past:

Describe a favorite memory from their past, including when it took place (age range): There’s no specific set age but learning to cook and bake from her grandmothers, sometimes standing on the foot stool at the counter or stove to watch or help stir or peel things.

Is there anyone or anything from your character’s past no longer in their life whom they wish was now (a pet, an old friend, a parent, a former lover, etc.) ? Yes, her grandmothers and in a lot of ways, her younger sister, Yasmin.

How did your character handle upsetting news or transgressions against them in their younger years if it differs from how they handle them now? She wasn’t as witty or deceptively strong but she was still very outspoken. So if you’d upset her or committed some sort of transgression against her, you’d know it because she would make sure you knew.

Is there any particular game, toy or activity from their past that they wish was trendy now (Furbys, Tomagotchis, Magic-8 balls, Gameboys, Skip-It, marbles, slime, Lite-Brite, etc.)? Easy bake ovens and Battleship (the game).

When playing at the park as a child, what playground attraction did they go to first (merry-go-round, monkey bars, swing, see-saw, slide, sandbox, etc.)? The swings.

27–Religion, Spirituality & Traditions:

Are they religious? If so, what religion(s) do they practice? She’s not religious but she knew her maternal grandmother was raised Christian and her paternal grandmother was raised Muslim, so she’s familiar with those two religions more than others.

Are they devout, casual, or fleeting in their beliefs? Fleeting when it comes to religious beliefs. 

Would they consider themselves spiritual? Yes.

Would they consider themselves open-minded and accepting of others beliefs or lack thereof? Somewhat. It just depends on if they’re being preachy to her or not.

Where would they say they acquired their core beliefs/morals from? Although she’s not religious, she leaned a lot from her grandmothers.

Do they have any traditions (picnics, holidays, etc.) that they put on or participate in? A few.

If so, what are they? Who started them? Her grandmothers, and a few that she started with her best friend Zoe.

Do they have a favorite holiday or occasion they like to celebrate? Halloween is her absolute favorite, but she enjoys Thanksgiving and the winter season too.

26–Funny Bone:

Describe your character’s main sense of humor (dry, corny, sarcastic, cynical, high-brow, bathroom, etc.): Sarcastic, dry, cynical and sometimes self-deprecating.

Tell about the most embarrassing thing that has happened to your character: She’s had a few embarrassing moments but one she doesn’t mind sharing sometimes is when she was a sophomore in high school and had a class with a crush at the time. On the day of a final exam she’d finished a test pretty early and felt proud of herself as though she was low-key showing off her smarts. When she got back to her desk (which was attached to the chair) she tried to sit down in a way that would draw attention to herself but got more than she bargained for when the old desk/chair set fell apart into 3 pieces.

Does your character like to tell jokes? Do they like to hear jokes? She’s very fond of sarcasm so sometimes that tends to create some jokes. While she doesn’t intentionally seek out jokes or joke-telling she does like to laugh.

What is your character’s favorite comedy (TV or film): The Lego Batman Movie, School of Rock, Bridesmaids, Wreck-It Ralph, Scott Pilgram vs. The World, Thor: Ragnorak, Hook | The Wayans Bros., The Parkers, Golden Girls, and Boy Meets World

Does your character have a favorite comedian/comedienne? If so, who? Paul Rudd, Stephen Colbert, Dave Chappelle (his older material), Ryan Davis.

Is your character a prankster? If so, what is the most memorable prank they have been a part of? She’s not a prankster.

Describe your character’s authentic laugh (the pitch, volume, gestures they do, etc.): Feminine pitch, a sliver nasal; she tends to lean forward a bit, bow her head a little and will sometimes cover her mouth with her fingertips. Sometimes she snorts which she finds embarrassing.

25–Finances & Assets:

Is your character considered wealthy/affluent? Not at all.

How did they come into their finances or lack thereof (inheritance, debt, their own income, the lottery, etc.)? Her own income, and although she keeps it in an untouched savings, alimony payments.

Have they ever borrowed money from a friend/family member? On occasions in the past where she’s been in a bind, he’s borrowed money from friends and promptly paid them back.

Would they consider themselves frugal, a moderate spender or a big spender? Roksana is very frugal.

What is the most expensive thing that they own? Probably her car. Or her shoe collection.

Have they ever written a check? Yes.

Do they own a debit card? A credit card? Yes, one of each.

Do they keep a wallet on them? Yes.

24–Talent show:

What talents/skills does your character possess? Other than her culinary skills, she’s a gifted singer and sketch artist (still life and animated/cartoon sketches). She’s also familiar with Farsi and knows a little bit of guitar.

When did they learn about this skill/talent? She’s been baking, cooking and drawing from a very young age. Farsi was often spoken by her Esta-joon (who hoped she would become as fluent in it as she was in English) and her father when he was around. Singing’s been with her for almost as long as the former 3, and she picked up some knowledge of the guitar in high school.

Have they worked to improve and hone it over time or has it always come naturally to them? Sketching and singing came naturally to her. Baking and cooking were both gifts she acquired from her grandmothers and honed over time. All of her skills have improved over time.

Do they like to show off their talents/skills? Her baking and cooking, yes in a way since she owns her home bakery. She performed in a cover band for a couple of years and therefore showed off her singing. Her drawings/sketches are a little more private. Some are hanging in her home while the rest that she has are kept in her sketchbooks. 

Have they ever profited from their talents/skills? She profits from her baking abilities as her main source of income, and for a brief while she got a little bit of money singing in a cover band. Drawing has been therapeutic for her at times so she’s benefited from it in that way.

What is a talent or skill they do not have but might wish they possessed? Better conflict resolution skills, particularly when it comes to her family matters.

23–Moral Compass

Has your character ever used their status, position of power, or situation to purposely enact harm (physical, emotional, or psychological) on someone else? No, she doesn’t boast any significant status to flex where it’d be effective in harm on others. The closest she’s gotten was using some fighting and self-defense skills in bar fights, either to break up a fight or defend herself.

To what lengths would your character go to protect a loved one? She’d do all she possibly could.

Does the phrase “Turn the other cheek” mean anything to them or do they tend to believe in vengeance? Blackmail? She might turn the other cheek in some cases, but she’s also of the mindset, “How many cheeks can you turn before you fight back?”

Do they believe they are consistent or inconsistent in sticking with their morals/values? She believes she’s pretty grounded in her values.

Do they generally see the world as black and white, good and evil, victim and evil-doer? She knows there’s gray areas. It’s situational on where they apply.

Would they ever think it’s okay to lie to protect their own loved ones? She’s more accepting of omitting the truth rather than flat out lying. And she’s done it/is currently doing so with information about herself to her family back in Chicago.

What are their thoughts on cheating (cheating on a person, cheating to get ahead in life, cutting corners at work, etc.)? Is it ever forgivable? It might be forgivable, but she has a very low tolerance for it. She knows she would be a hypocrite for finding it completely inexcusable, knowing she had slept with people before her divorce was finalized.

If someone does a favor for your character, do they tend to feel obligated to return said favor or show some form of gratitude? It depends. Sometimes she thinks a ‘thanks’ is enough and other times, yes, she’ll try to return the favor.

22–Keeping up with the Joneses

Do/have they ever wanted to get married? She's been married before. If she ever did marry again, it wouldn't be anytime soon. That's also a big 'if'.

Given their time, finances and so-on, do/would they want a large wedding or a small wedding, or a wedding at all? Small. Not like her first wedding but still on the small side.

If they don’t already have them, do they want to have kids? She does.

Have they or would they ever consider adoption? Yes, she would.

What kind of parent are they? If they aren’t already, what kind of parent do they think they would be like? Roksi would be an amazing parent. Loving, caring, nurturing, encouraging of healthy interests and aspirations, and a fair disciplinarian.

Describe their ideal home (if they don’t already have it): She doesn't currently have it butithe home she's renting is mostly working for her right now. As long as it has a big kitchen and the rest of the house is a size she can regularly maintain, she's fine. She doesn't have a set picture in her mind of what her ideal home would look like.

Would they want pets/more pets? If so, what kind(s)? She wants a short-haired cat (probably a Bengal again) or a German Shepherd 

Are they any good with technology? Pretty good, yes. She just tends to stick to simple things, mostly.

What’s their favorite tech gadget? Her iPod and her bluetooth speakers.

21–Has your character ever…

Wanted a super power? What would it be? Yes, super strength or mind control.

Wanted to change anything physically about themselves? Sometimes she’s wished she was taller.

Wished they possessed or had a more prominent personality trait about them? Not currently, but in the past yes.

Wished they had less of a more striking personality trait than they have? No.

Been admitted to a hospital? No.

Done any extreme activities (skydiving, bungee jumping, etc.)? No.

Built a snowman? Yes. It was tiny.

Burned a basic food item (toast, pasta, etc.)? She once burned spaghetti, thinking she had turned the stove off.

Held a grudge and never resolved it? Yes.

Gotten into a fight in public? Yes.

Split their pants open? Yes, once.

Gotten into any sort of legal trouble? Almost.

Sung or danced in public? Yes.

Gone to a (non birthday/non-wedding) party? Yes.

Skinny dipped? Technically yes, even though she can’t swim. It was more that she waded and tumbled about water butt naked for a while, while drunk.

Been arrested? No. She was detained once but not actually arrested.
