04 - Ocean (KaijaNMazin)
Kaija let the ocean air drift past her face, taking a deep, salt-filled breath.
The rock she found a place on was cold, but her white jaguar was warm on her feet. And under fingers, scratching behind his ears.
The setting sun was… beautiful. Stress fell off her shoulders, muscles relaxed.
It was a moment of peace.
…
“HERE you are!” An all too familiar voice said, stones crunching under his feet when he jumped the last two meters down the cliff. “I looked almost an hour for you!”
Mazin sounded huffy. And Kaija snickered. No one but him could find her at all: “You’re slacking. Happens when you choose to travel the world instead of visiting your dear ailing sister”
“Yeaaaah. You DO know not even normal people have an easy time getting down this cliff, right?” He looked around what she’d used to get down.
Meanwhile, the big cat got more scratches.
Until he noticed: “This is not what I’d gotten you the cub for!”
“For what then, brother, dear?” The Jaguar nudged her hip to demand a continuation of the petting.
“Sick him on your husband? He’s big enough for the job now,” he said, sauntering over to scratch the other ear. The big cat was pleased.
“We talked about this. A lot. So leave it. And hey, would you prefer me using ropes to get down here?”
“At least I know you are capable with those. I’m just worrying!”
She grabbed the coat of her ridiculous pouty brother and pulled him next to her to lean against him: “I’ll allow you to carry me up if you shut up now. I want to enjoy my sunset. And the ocean. Be happy I don’t sick Snuffles on you for disturbing me”
He sighed and put an arm around her: “I’ll behave”
Kaija shook her head. Stupid brothers.
