3. TEXTURE IN THE DIGITAL SPACE
As technology evolves and interfaces grow beyond the visual-only, material and digital spaces become increasingly intertwined. This series of experiment reflects on how our brain understand texture without touch according to its reaction to light and physics. I explored this issue through a diversity of medium from 2/3D softwares to coding (using the Javascript library Three.js for 3D web-based graphics). Programming is very different than using a pre-designed interface. It’s about experimenting with the core of what an image is made of and designing your own principles to dictate behaviours of your algorithm which can produce surprising and innovative visual output.
