Production Challenge #4

Here’s what Fearless Few member Mikkelsen had to say when briefing in challenge number 4: 

Since this is the second task I'm setting, I'm taking the liberty of making it a somewhat self-serving one. Using pretty much the same formula as we do in the group, i.e. just getting on with things and getting stuff finished without too much dwelling on details, I finished my latest track "writing when drunk" the other day. Whilst I think it's pretty nice, I'd be the first to admit that it's a little bit on the dull side. It lacks a bit of sparkle and its general niceness could do with being challenged a bit. And this, of course, is where you (and I) come in - the task being as follows: 

Using as little or as much of the stems / loops uploaded to [get in touch if you want the stems] I'd like you to create your own edit or remix of Writing When Drunk. The only two rules are:

You need to use the stems as your starting point, but if they take you in a radically different direction where the track isn't recognisable at all, then that's totally fine. In fact, I'd welcome you guys doing what I believe Primal Scream asked Andy Weatherall to do when he was tasked with remixing one of their songs: you need to take the track and really, I mean REALLY, fuck it up!

Spend anywhere between 2 and 3 hours on the task 

The outcome? A small selection of amazing remixes!

Production Challenge #3

The Fearless Few member ((Gildedbrute)) articulated the third production challenge as follows: 

I've attached an audio clip from a video game called Elite Dangerous. It's just sparse ambient sounds from the game and it's 1:30 minutes long.The challenge is thus: create a new song, no more than 4 minutes long using ONLY this sample. Make new beats, pads whatever. You may transform the sample as you see fit but you cannot add any audio,midi or other samples.As always you have 14 days to do so (if you accept the challenge) and you must work on it for 2 to 3 hours.
