HELLO :D silent reader up until now & let me just tell you, when i got that notif a few months ago(?) when you mentioned working on fantasize again it was like the superball LMFAOOO 😭 half of my excitement was for afaa and the other half for this... #BringUsHome 💯 but anyway, i had a question because i just can’t help it; have you ever considered what life would look like for spelly & jake (and subsequently everyone else) fast forward 15 years for way of water? obviously there'd be major canon changes to the story itself but like... where would they be and what would their relationship look like ??? would jake have gone through with abandoning his human body in the first place?

and that's a very interesting question! if i'm being totally honest, i hadn't thought that far for them, but now my gears are turning....
i think that it truly depends on if they decided to stay together, especially because jake's going to become na'vi permanently, which i never thought about changing for the sake of their story - it's always going to happen and it would be a big thing for them to decide where to go with that. i don't think jake would want to be in his human body to be honest, especially fantasize!jake - he feels very limited in what he can physically do, he doesn't recognise his own strengths outside of his avatar, and i think the omatikaya would want to give him that strength as a thanks for leading them to victory
and, also depending on whether or not spelly got an avatar, which i didn't initially see as realistic because of the time it takes to grow one and the resources needed and the cost.... i didn't know if the rda (what's left on pandora) would have the means to make spelly an avatar body, not unless they were already working on it or if they could somehow speed up the maturing process (roughly 6 yrs, the same it takes for humies to get to pandora)
but, tldr, i would like to think that they stayed together til the end, and that jake ends up on the same kind of path only with a human partner rather than neytiri or someone else. i don't think jake would have really ever entertained the idea of kids until he met neytiri, but with spelly, depending on if they wanted them and planned to make it happen somehow before he transitioned (a story idea i thought of as a potential spinoff) then i think they'd both be happy to not have kids, and i feel that jake might not take the role of olo'eyktan and therefore would find it easier to be somewhat more reckless with where he was and how he attacked the rda.
i can very much see jake without the sully family becoming as ruthless as the sarentu and so'lek in terms of hunting down the rda - he might even be more inclined to stay in the forest or high camp for spelly's sake... she'd probably be very enthusiastic about jake doing whatever he needed to do, and even if he had to go away for a while (as in go to awa'atlu) then i feel that she loves him enough to wait or continue her work on her own terms and hope they find each other later. spelly doesn't need an avatar to get shit done!!!!! she'd be in that fight on a freaking direhorse with reigns and a saddle, she'd be very eager to help.
buuuut i like to think they'd stay together and have a family between themselves, because family doesn't strictly mean having actual kids :D
sorry for the yap! i hadn't really entertained long term futures because i like to live in a bubble where the rda never came back and they all live happily ever after (cough, the jeanbie canon) but if i had to predict their ending i'd like to say they made it through and are still happy together even 15 years on <333 jake's like mr cullen he'd love spelly even when she gets older and his na'vi body takes more time to age (i love these guys)
i just realized qeresî is almost identical to κεράσι/kerāsi (greek for cherry) !! it just hit me while i was replaying lol i love accidentally finding languages' and cultural similarities, especially those between greece/the middle east. it feels very at home even tho they r so different!!
also, revisiting the game after i first played it when you'd only released the first 5 chapters, i think? i'm almost up to speed and i just wanted to say it's even more beautiful than i remembered <3 hope you're good!
