Vampires have third eye lids...
I have just thought about the third eye covering/lids and come to the conclusion Vampires have a Third eyelid like cats in particular. Dangerous, sharp objects weirded by the more aggressive prey.
It's instinct in some to attack the eyes on anyone or anything. Or being a peasant burning down your home waving pitch forks.
The exact function of the third eyelid in cats is not completely known but it is believed to help protect a very large cornea from injury as cats move through tall grass or capture prey.Nov 20, 2006
