I’m from a wealthy nation and want to see the results
This is something I was wondering about because I’ve heard different people say different things.
3rd world is a pretty alienating term, implying that the countries referenced are literally on another planet in terms of sophistication (obviously wrong).
Developing implies that it needs to do what Europe, Canada, and the US did, which isn’t necessarily good for the nation. Especially since these countries are built on exploitation and there may be better ways to become economically stable.
I think 3rd world is worse, but I’d love to hear what your thoughts are about which term is better to describe poor, often politically unstable, countries. Because I think there is value in a kind of class consciousness that those countries are facing similar issues and how wealthy nations can be helpful instead of imperialistic.
