oh i totally care about writing advice. i dont think i have anything in particular, but i love to see advice on the dash, i really needed your last post it helped a bunch with my current project
i'm so glad i could help you out, you have no idea how happy that makes me! if you have anything specific in mind you need advice with at any time, let me know. honestly, i've been sitting here trying to think of what the best advice i've ever heard was so i can hit you with something good. i can't come up with anything BIG, so let me give you a lot of smaller advice.
elaborating on my previous posts, do not stress over what the first thing you're going to say about a character is. as long as it's something that you don't anticipate contradicting, then you're set. i'm just worried i set up a bit too much of a "first impressions are EVERYTHING" frame of mind when that's not necessarily true. here's an example:
this is the first paragraph of a story i'm writing and this is the first we see of my main character. other than a.) kanna likes the water, and b.) kanna is a lighthouse operator, we know nothing else about him. his actions following this will set up a picture for the readers, but the first thing doesn't have to.
don't worry about hooks too much. my general philosophy is that hooks- although important- are way too hyped up in the world of writing. that being said, a good way to do hooks is "WHAM SENTENCE -> sentence that in part explains the previous directly following". here's an example from maggie stiefvater's the raven boys.
the first sentence pulls us in and confuses us, and the second sentence (and its full paragraph) provides some context to what we're being told. there's still some questions that we can ask (will she actually? is this prediction wrong? how long has she known? how concrete is this prediction? etc) but we're given a frame of reference for what is a very shocking and compelling hook. it's great.
my last thing is pretty small but put less characters in a room at any given time. get in the habit of writing with smaller groups, because it's a little jarring to read a scene knowing that like seven people are in this room and only two or three are actually doing anything.
that post was about han sooyoung from omniscient readers viewpoint ^_^
i see i see. orv intrigues me but i'm lowkey scared off by how long it is since i have no attention span for reading. thank you maybe i will look into it :)
hello andre my buddy guy pal do you have any specific perfume song recs? my faves are 1mm electro world and polygon wave, and those are also the only ones ive listened to. but theyre good! i feel like you recced me a perfume song ages ago but i forgot bc i have poop memory! also hows ur day going? i havent done much today except internet stuff but its been fun!!
Hi Justin Okay so YES I DO . I actually recced you Party Maker awhile back but again that one's pretty long and mostly meant to be played live than to be listened to as like .. An actual song if that makes sense . It's hype music . Okay so well I think you'd like Inryoku , GAME , Natural ni Koishite , 575 (mostly because I've been obsessed with this song lately lol I love the rap part) , Handy Man , Point and Clockwork mayhaps . My general favorite albums are LEVEL3 and Complete Best but really most of them are pretty good (looks away from Future Pop and Cosmic Explore) . I also am obsessed with the Spending all my time album mix but I'm not sure if I can ... Recommend it . I don't know . But anyways I'm well ! Was just drawing hehe happy to hear you're good too
