Yo! There's nothing like having something else to procrastinate to make you get round to doing stuff. Have a Higa translation that's been sitting around for a while.
This is Hirakoba's extended profile from the 40.5 fanbook (analysis/ divining/special move, that stuff, his basic stats are here among other places). This pretty much completes Higa's 40.5 profiles: Kite, Chinen, Aragaki & Shiranui's are on the fanbook community here and Kai & Tanishi's can be found in my translation index here.
My translations are far from perfect and I'm open to corrections, so If you see a mistake please tell me!
Hirakoba Rin
The proud lone wolf with passionate feelings boiling inside.
Displaying flashy looks and plays to the public, on the inside he holds pride and passion which will not be shaken by anyone.Though at times he disobeys the policy of the club, he always follows through on his own beliefs; this is the source of Hirakoba Rin's strength.
^He seals his opponents special moves with his own, taking the wind out of their sails and bringing an advantage to his (team's) play.

He hates goya, therefore he hates stereotypes!? Hirakoba hates to be restrained more than anything else; the simplistic preconception that "Okinawan people love goya" is also something that he refuses to be bound by. For example, the 'I hate what I hate' attitude Hirakoba displays in his aversion to goya is something common to people everywhere. Through it we are able to observe Hirakoba's human nature.
^No matter who orders him around his beliefs will not be compromised, both in tennis and in his private life.

Hirakoba's special move!!
Habu
^The habu's course bends after the ball bounces, whereas the Oohabu's course drastically changes immediately after the ball is hit.
It's impossible to return no matter how many try! The unpredictable change of trajectory devours the enemy.
By putting multiple complicated spins on the ball, the course of this killer shot can change 2 or 3 times! Most opponents can't even touch it, but even when it is caught, it's almost impossible to return.
Okay! I can't let a Higa birthday pass without posting a translation, actually I've got two. Anyway, I love Tanishi, seriously love. He's a gigantic, aggressive, gluttonous, belligerent asshole. But enough about his good points. He's larger than life in every way (and 82% muscle), wears his emotions, good or bad, on his sleeve, and is fiercely loyal to his team of ineffectual villains. And I think he's cute.

However, he feels a deep affection for the people close to him, such as family and friends. If those particular people are in a crisis he will come to their aid, brimming with chivalrous spirit and willing to put his life on the line to protect them.

It's another Higa birthday! I wanted to do something more creative for Kai's birthday, but it didn't end up happening (I owe him at least one attempt at fanart). I do have something though! When he's serious there's no stopping him! The ever-changing reverse grip expert.
He easily gets carried along with the mood of the moment and isn't the type to use plans or strategy. However, once he enters "serious mode" stopping him becomes an incredibly difficult feat! With high athletic ability and concentration he attacks relentlessly; his movements and tension cannot be disrupted until the final moment of the match!
^ Because of his unabashed personality, he often says and does things which can rub his opponents the wrong way…

Good at PE, bad at maths, that's Kai. He often moves without thinking about the consequences of his actions, because of that trait, he is sometimes the cause of unforeseen disaster…

He's also kind to women; you could say that he's the hopelessly devoted type. On the other hand, in pursuit of his own happiness he can be overly defensive; to those who would hurt him, whoever they are, he shows no mercy and an aggressive, even cruel attitude can sometimes surface.

(tn: While it's read as 'Viking' the kanji for Kai's move say 'Pirate Horn' This is where the whole pirate thing comes from in case anyone was wondering.)
Discerning the enemy's movements he stings with the reverse grip!
Waiting until the last moment to hit the ball, he releases the reverse grip Viking Horn to strike a killing blow! It's a move that is only possible because Kai boasts such high physical ability.
^After the opponent has already started moving, he drives it into the open court! This is the true worth of Kai's tennis style.
