Although most have moved on, there are still some of us still actively drawing our Cuphead OCs and still interested in OC events! @bananasnbagels​ is hosting one starting this weekend called the #4thofJulyFestival. I’ve got a head start with Day 1 early. I took creative liberties a little, because I think the Inkwell Isles are their own nation and therefore wouldn’t celebrate the 4th of July, so my OCs are going to a summer solstice celebration instead, but there’s still the same festivities (I hope you don’t mind, bananas).

Day 1: What’s that? It’s been broadcasted?!

All across Inkwell, the upcoming festival is advertised, via radio, flyers, and in the newspaper. Different characters come across the news, and all of whom are itching to go. Some will go one way, others, another, we’ll be following these 5 throughout the festival.

Day 1 of the 4th July festival

Violet: *was walking in her village alone* this is nice nothin......hm? *reads the paper*

Paper: come one! come one all to the fair on Isle 2 to celebrate 4th of july! Paterons will be asked to make floats for a big parade that will go through all of inkwell so come one come all!

Violet: *her eyes light up* A FAIR, I’M SO THERE!

Day 4: It’s time! It’s time! It’s time for the parade!

Lewis and Rosie stand back and enjoy their work as the float they volunteered on is driven down the street in the parade. It was nice of the staff to let Moanique drive the float, too.

Day 5: Lay back and watch the fireworks

I tried to get this done early or on time, but I simply ran out of time. I drew all day last Monday, and as a result my brain refused to let me draw, no matter how much I tried, resulting in my first attempt at Day 5 looking less than satisfactory. And the fact that the next couple of days would render me unable to draw as I would be travelling about and doing a lot, didn’t help matters. But once the long weekend was halfway through I could finally start all over on this, with a little help from @harvest-honeymoon in regards to Lewis and Rosie cuddling close on the bench.

But this is far from over! Luck and Delilah were having their own outing at the same time, and that’s a story I look forward to telling....

Day 2: Who do you want to go with?

(In case the dialogue is hard to read):

Rosie: “Hello? Rosie here, is this Moanique?”

Moanique: “Y-yeah! Hi, R-R-Rosie, been a whi-while! H-how you’ve b-b-been?”

Rosie: “Been well, just calling to ask if you were interested in volunteering for the parade.”

Moanique: “The f-float building? You b-b-bet!”

Day 3: Build the floats!

The gang have been assigned their float to work on. Monique has some ideas for making adjustments to its inner workings, leaving the decorating to Lewis and Rosie. With so much fresh produce waiting to be used in those bins, they’re sure to create a parade float that welcomes summer and its bountiful harvest!
