First on the agenda: wait in line to sign up to drive the all-new Land Rover Defender. The line moved fairly quickly and after providing a driver’s license and signing all of the waivers, I was given a wristband. I then had to choose one of three lines: ride in the Defender on a slightly more technical course, drive one of Land Rover’s various vehicles, or actually get behind the wheel of the Defender myself. The lines were pretty long, as could be expected, so I opted to first get a ridealong with an instructor (that line was the shortest). Inside the cabin, which was quite comfortable, we immediately set off through the various obstacles that were created.

4xFAR was a weekend gathering combining live music, culinary, and outdoor adventure experiences for people with a passion for exploring the unknown. Two-days of music from Grammy award-winning producers and today’s biggest artists. 4xFAR was also the first opportunity for consumers to experience the all-new Land Rover Defender on a purpose-built off-road course.
Designed to celebrate the launch of the 2020 Land Rover Defender, 4xFAR was also an opportunity for festival attendees to experience the full range of Land Rover vehicles on purpose-built, off-road courses. 4xFAR featured an adventure area curated by Outside Magazine, offering guided workshops and classes, gear demos, and activities such as slacklining, rock climbing and mountain biking.
The festival featured world-class, live performances from Grammy Award winners and nominees, along with other critically acclaimed artists. The lineup was led by Grammy-winning Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals with Mark Ronson and Q-Tip, as well as two-time Grammy-nominated live electronic duo Sofi Tukker.
