One of the acfc founders (Julie Uhrman) said in an interview awhile ago that it’s important for them to get some players that have strong fanbases. Specifically, she said when you’re an expansion team, this is very important because people will support the club that their favorite player plays for. Christen and Alex obviously come to mind. Tobin is definitely one of them too. People need to understand that even if Tobin is injured a lot and older, she is still a very big advantage for Angel City. Her name sells. Period

The thing that worries me the most is actually the competition, not the roster. They really should try to get serious opponents. While they had some funny competition at the SheBelieves (and still struggled in the beginning), Canada for example has played Germany, Spain and England. The Netherlands have played France, and so on. This is the kind of competition they need to be realistically prepared for the world cup.
