Hi. I just read your addition to the Steve Irwin post about Animal Planet making wild animals out to be basically slayers of humans, and you described that exactly perfectly. I wish Steve had been around when I was young. Maybe I wouldn't be so afraid of snakes and such but he was a big part of my son's early childhood and he learned to see the beauty in them while being mindful of the animal's nature. A nature of them not ripping someone's face off. Very good addition to the post. Thank you.

Thank you for this message. I’m glad other people felt the same way, I’m glad your son was able to experience Mr. Irwin’s work the same way I had. I’m really glad he was able to make such a lasting mark on so many of us, for any good it did.

You got it. It’s really not anyone’s business, but they sure as hell feel they need to comment on it. I am worried only about me (and my kids, of course). Not what they feel is or is not okay about my decisions in this case.
