Druidic Circle: Circle of Ruin

I just put out an update to my Circle of Ruin!

Ever wanted to play a stone based druid, or a druidic knight, well here's the subclass for you!

A front-line warrior druid that lets you make stone armour, grants martial weapon proficiencies, and just lets you grapple and pummel your enemies if you really want!

If you grab the PDF from the link above, you also get 'Lady Ethel of Scarwood' a CR6 NPC statblock with lore and tips on how to run in combat!

Druidic Foci

Some more inspiration for druids. This time for their druidic foci.

A staff made of the formation sand makes when struck by lightning.

A hollow wand made of volcanic glass. A drop of lava sits inside.

A perfectly round piece of sea glass. When you tilt it you can hear a wave crash against rocks.

A drop of amber with a small creature trapped inside, when you cast find familiar with a use of wildshape the creature inside matches the beast you summon.

A dandelion tuft, as you expend spells a seed floats away on the wind. After a long rest it grows back.

A piece of meteorite on a metal chain, it shakes and flares when you cast with it, making the hand you hold it with look ablaze with light.

A quarterstaff made of bright coral with seaweed and other underwater plants growing from it. They shift about as if still immersed in water.

My second Halloween themed subclass of the month, and my first druid subclass! In terms of design, the circle of the dead is similar to the circle of the moon, except with a dash of necromancy thrown in. This subclass allows you to become undead versions of all the beasts which moon druids can transform into, and is designed around the idea of overcoming and eventually even mastering death. I'm really happy with how this one turned out!

My group’s Ravnica campaign has been put on hiatus for a little while due to the DM’s schedule being too swamped to prep, and so another one of our players picked up DM responsibilities and we’re starting a new Africa/African mythology themed campaign.

This is Nikya the Jade-Eye, the Half-Elf Druid (Circle of Dreams). Nikya is a wandering folk-hero and caretaker to the River Ny. She travels around the small towns further from the river’s reach and tends to their crops, people, and drinkable water. She also cares for and listens to the needs of the River Ny, ensuring that it can provide the flooding that it’s surround people rely on. 

Nikya is the most “good guy” of a character I think I’ve ever played. She’s a kind soul, very quick to trust people and distasteful of violence. 

Nikya is quite meek however, and has quite the fear of death - a personal flaw that might prove to cause problems when her party relies on her to act quickly in dangerious situations. 

Looking forward to getting to play her in the new campaign!

sooo i put all the 5E Druids info i could find in one place ...

and then added an optional Homebrew Bit to put Animal Companions back into the class because wow why were they even taken out tbh ..........

but yeah !! ... uhh i scooped up all the 5E info i could find into one doc and listed it out, including the 3 additional UA Druid Circles , added my campaign system of keeping 3.5E Druid characters/NPCs as much the same as possible, and there are links to my actual fave life-saver resources in there too

go forth and be moss covered dirt friends but with added Special Pets lol

If one of your players likes to main druids, do NOT put redwood trees in your overworld unless you’re prepared for somebody to get ambitious with an Awaken spell.

So I’m gearing up to play a druid in 5e

and I’m so bummed that primal savagery specifies teeth or claws as what can be affected by it

I wanted to get a beak, and savagely peck the life from my enemies with my hardened snoot
