Now that the art is posted in its own post, I will share my opinions. Neji Kokuto must be stopped (affectionate). His outfit in the 5th anni art is a mess. We all know he loves a good bust in his looks but it is aesthetically all over the place, unified with itself and the others only by the color. What made him think the monocle was going to pull this all together? I hate it, but because of that I like it. Neji is completely all over the place and kind of a mess and I sort of feel like I'm looking at his raw, messy, sometimes deeply flawed creative output. I don't know if we're supposed to assume he's designing these costumes the way he canonically designs the play costumes or not, but he certainly puts himself into Situations. At least the midriffs on the China Fantasy series were within that specific borrowed aesthetic. Mitsuki in full gothic lolita is amazing. I'm glad he got a big flower to hide behind. Takashina Sarafumi the everything you are, as usual. Kisa and Soshiro look like they could be playing twins again. I think they should get to play evil twins again. Suzu and Kai look so big compared to the rest of the cast, there is no way these are to scale, but I love the little accessories. In general, I think they need to go much bolder on the Jack Looks. Where are the capes? Where's the ruff? Shoot for the moon here, Ishida (Tsuki joke fully intended). The contrast is even sharper on the eeo store merch art. The details on Soshiro and Suzu's suit tops are lovely, but they are not escaping the "dressed for prom" vibes in this art as well. With those two specifically, given they are very much teenage boys, the suit looks just feel so Prom Coded. I feel like they had no idea what to do with Neji's cactus and so they went... um. Bolo tie? But Neji's had two insane Jeanne Looks drop this year, so him getting a very boring Jack look isn't much to complain about I suppose. It is, as with some of his in game outfits, further asserting the fact that on Neji, the more normal clothes look as much, if not more, like a costume. I was amused to learn several people had independently come to that conclusion about his plain blue button down look. That it looks straight up WEIRD on him. Baby playing around in the Normal Person costume bin. Everything he wears looks like a costume, even, maybe especially, when it otherwise would not. The colored suits in the minis work a little better. Kai is a very distinguished gentleman but he deserves a cape. The Jeannes absolutely steal the show on this art. I think Kisa's is very cute, but less to write home about. Mitsuki's is very ethereal. Works well with the assigned flower, too. both Kisa and Mitsuki's have a very ballet vibe to them. Fumi's is my absolute favorite, though. I have no idea if it was intentional or not, but his sleeves look like folding fans, which is an amazing detail for his character. They really went all out with Fumi's Jeanne looks on these new artworks. And boy, can he pull them off. Truly living up to that unreachable top Al Jeanne reputation.
Again, not sure how intentional it is, but in his first affection event, Fumi specifically talks about how to angle ones eyes and chin to appear coy, in his family's dance style, and I feel like that is really captured in his posing in these.
