Wherein Charles finds out Carlos likes flowers and can’t stop giving them to him.

“Ca-h-los, mate,”
Carlos lazily turns his neck, head still flopped onto the back of the sofa, to look at Charles. Before he can second guess it, Charles holds the rose up to Carlos’ eyes, holding it out towards him. The blank, bored look in Carlos’ eyes disappears into confusion, and Charles feels like jumping out the nearest window from embarrassment.
“Take it.” Charles says, pushing the petals into Carlos’ face and letting go, forcing Carlos to swiftly take hold of the rose while sputtering into the red petals.
“Oy, joder, what is wrong with you?” Carlos exclaims, more disbelieving and confused than anything.
Charles cannot meet his gaze, instead choosing to stare up at the ceiling like Carlos was doing a moment ago.
“You like them, right?” his voice cracks pathetically but he winces through it.
The whole exchange feels like a bit too much—Charles doesn’t know why, but after last week with Carlos in his hotel room admiring the PR bouquet, he hasn’t been able to stop noticing flowers everywhere. He doesn’t even know the names of most types of flowers, but whenever he comes across any, a certain man pops up in his brain, his mind ceaselessly supplying images of rosy cheeks and pink lips curled into a pretty smile.
It’s silent after he says it, for an uncomfortably long while. Long enough that Charles chances a look at Carlos, dreading a look of disgust or horror or pity or—
Carlos has a brow raised, eyes twinkling in amusement in that way it always does whenever he’s teasing Charles. His lips are pursed like he’s trying hard to not smile.
“Did you get this?”
Charles swallows what feels like pins and needles in the desert of his mouth, finds himself stuck on those big, brown eyes staring into his very soul. He does a half shrug, neck bent over the back of the couch in an odd angle made worse with him twisted to face Carlos.
“Does it matter?”
In lieu of an answer, Carlos raises the rose to his nose and breathes it in, shrugging lightheartedly as if to say ‘guess not’.
Charles is thankful he doesn’t drag the matter, and he’s grateful still that Carlos doesn’t point out the way Charles dumbly stares at him the entire time he’s there.

I saw charlos fanart last night that coincidentally matched this wip of mine that i’ve had for a little over a week now and it kinda just felt like a sign from the universe that i should finish this fic. If the wonderful fanartists are drawing what i’ve been obsessing over for weeks before i can finish it then what is that if not a divine command? Writing fluffy c2 in my drafts is how i cope 🤩🙏
#6615 Nickel Brook x BAOS Podcast Green Apple Fruited Dessert Lager (Canada) Our latest collab for BAOS is with the absolute legends at Nickel Brook! Back in 2011, Scott and I did our first ever brewery trip and one of the first spots we hit was Nickel Brook. We got to chatting with owner John Romano, he gave us our first every tour of a brewery and sent us off with a bunch of low fills of their classic Green Apple Pilsner. That beer, and Nickel Brook as a whole, have a big piece of my heart so I’m extra proud that they were down to collaborate with us in bringing that beer back. What we came up with is similar to the OG but with a twist - it’s now a green apple lager with apple purée, lactose (woo!) and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and ginger). It pours slightly opaque with a big fluffy head and a slightly tart, bready nose, the body is light and crisp, that classic green apple vibe shines through but in a beautifully subtle way, the lactose accents the sweetness of the apples, it’s slightly tart and a touch bitter, the spices are hella subtle and come through in the back end, it’s refreshing and balanced, not overdone in any way, juicy and clean with a dry, almost tangy finish. Exceptional, so so proud. Get it in ya! (at Montreal, Quebec) https://www.instagram.com/p/CUv4icXlfYW/?utm_medium=tumblr
