A little ficlet inspired by the Six Baudelaire AU by @unfortunate-stranger-losers (anyone unfamiliar with her AMAZING fic, Lilac=Movie!Violet, Violet=Netflix!Violet, Nick=Movie!Klaus, Klaus=Netflix!Klaus, Solitude=Movie!Sunny, and Sunny=Netflix!Sunny)
I don’t usually post fic, so please enjoy my attempt!
Lilac
Lilac never told Bertram and Beatrice, but that didn’t mean they didn’t know. She would talk about Finnish pirates and female inventors, she just never bothered to use the words “I’m a lesbian”
Violet
“Who’s your favorite character?” Her mother asked.
“I think I’m in love with Elizabeth and Darcy,” Violet said with a laugh, looking down at her book.
The silence that met her made her grin begin to break, until she braved a look at her parents. They were both smiling lovingly at her.
“Me too,” whispered her father conspiratorially.
Nick
“Eww,” Nick moaned, “I never want to get married.”
“Let’s see what you say when you’re older,” laughed Bertram.
Nick’s temper flared, as it so often did. “I’m not being childish! I never want to get married!” He stomped off without another word.
A knock on the door interrupted his sulking.
“Nick?” Asked Beatrice.
“What?” He demanded.
His mother perched on his bed while Bertram stood nervously. “I’m sorry, Nick. We don’t care who you marry, or if you marry at all. We just want you to be happy.”
“Lilac was explaining a word she thinks you might know, aromantic? Your father and I want you to know that, while we think you should be open to changing your mind as you are a bit young, we will support you no matter what.”
“Even if I am aro?” Nick asked.
“Of course,” Bertram answered for both of them.
“We promise.”
Klaus
“Mom, Dad?”
“Yes?”
“I was reading a book about sexuality and it said that homosexuality is normal and that—“
“Klaus,” Beatrice interrupted, “we love you no matter what.”
“Even if I’m gay?”
“Of course.”
“But the book also said that lots of people—“
“Klaus,” Betram interjected, “We’re not lots of people. We’re your parents.”
Klaus began to sniffle, “this didn’t go how I thought it would and I’m glad.”
His parents hugged him without another word.
Solitude
“Niiick, I think I’m dying! I have a crush on this one boy, but also there’s this girl who’s the prettiest person on earth.”
“You sound like Vi.”
“Yeah, but she’s bi and I’m pan.”
“Oh! You decided on a label?” Soli nodded. “Nice.”
There was a pause. “Soli? You know we all support you no matter what, right?”
“Well duh. None of us are straight--well I guess Sunny or Bea might be but I doubt it--but . . . what about mom and dad?”
“They would love you, no matter what. I promise.”
Sunny
“Hey mom, hey dad.” Sunny whispered to herself, “We haven’t really talked in a while, but I just wanted to let you know, I’m gay. I told Li the other day and she was supportive. I guess that’s stupid, obviously a lesbian isn’t going to hate me for being gay. She also said you’d love me no matter what, but I don’t remember you at all. I wish I could meet you and talk to you and tell you about all the things you’ve missed.”
